Attempting to roleplay has been stymied several times by the little one being testy. Murphy's law when specifically applied to babies dictates that they will go through their fussy periods at the exact time you had planned to do something, and it will not occur to you that you could've undertaken this activity at any prior point during the day when they were sleeping peacefully.

Husband is downloading Secret War because idk a bunch of our friends like it. I haven't played anything but Civ since the birth. idk I'm just not in a gaming mood lately? Would like to get back on the Mafia II horse, though. It's one of those games where you enjoy playing it but once you put it down you forget to pick it back up.

Almost finished watching the entirety of The West Wing. Moving on to 24 afterwards. Have watched so much TV in the last few weeks that I don't even know what to say.

I know it's not something that anyone else on my flist is into, but I'm super-excited about the V20 Companion Deluxe Edition. Not even so much for the thing itself -not actually a huge Vampire fan-, but for the hope that White Wolf and other game companies might seriously start looking at Kickstarter and the like as a payment and distribution model. Everyone and their mother knows about the Order of the Stick and DoubleFine successes, so I really hope it's something that can extend to the tabletop RPG market too.

Uni has started, and it's been pretty good so far. I've met the other members of my group (lots of groupwork) and they all seem nice. The work is okay for the most part too - kinda boring first year stuff, but nothing too challenging, thankfully. I'm cautiously optimistic about the semester!

ummmm not much else to say. I'm pretty much obsessed with Fallout: New Vegas and Battlestar Galactica right now, though I'm almost finished the former. Planning to move on to Mass Effect 2 afterwards, as I preordered 3 in the end. Anyone else into ME? I played the first one and didn't like it that much, but I've been told the gameplay gets a lot better in 2, and I enjoyed the demo of 3 a lot.

Went out shopping today, though it wasn't a very good trip. Not because we didn't pick up anything fun (we did!), but because ugh bad customer service. We went to Mind Games (tabletop rp stuff) first and they're always pretty rude, but idk maybe I noticed it more this time? They also treated another customer badly and I'm just kinda over it. We went to Minotaur (comics) afterwards, and even though the guy there wasn't rude (for once!), but because the place always looks like it's had one shelf-sorting per year.

I want to support bricks-and-mortar businesses, but when it's a matter of getting things online cheaply and not having to deal with shitty customer service vs going all the way to shops, attempting to browse their disorganized inventory, and then being treated like crap by the staff... eh. Just gonna buy online from now on and cop the shipping. In both cases, it's not so much that today was oh my god horrible, but that there have been a lot of incidents like this, as well as a few more questionable ones. It's just annoying because those are basically the only two shops in the city worth going to for those respective goods, so there's really no choice but to buy online.

But um we got some cool comics so that's nice 8D Tomorrow is a pretty big day - it's the twenty week ultrasound, so we'll find out the sex of the baby, and also whether it has any abnormalities or things to be concerned about. Everything's been so far so good, so fingers crossed everything goes okay tomorrow. I'm starting to feel the baby kick, which is... weird.

It occurs to me that I should probably make a sticky post for this journal at some point. Or are sticky posts not cool any more?

After my Serenity session today, most of us then went on to see the Star Trek movie, which I assure you all is just as awesome, if not more so, the second time around. (I already want to see it again. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?) And then on the way back, we bickered over the relative merits of weaponry, preferred alien races, and which series was the best. I fear that had we not reached my place, we would've actually in all seriousness ended up in a Kirk versus Picard argument. Being a nerdy loser is fun. 8D
