totes a game behind, but here's some Mass Effect 2 talk!
I'm up to chillaxing before going on a suicide mission for the illusive dick. So mainly I'm dong everyone's loyalty quests and recruiting the second batch of characters - I've grabbed everyone but Tali, and done all the loyalty quests except Thane and Samara (who I just got). I'm going mostly Renegade with a bit of Paragon now and then.
♥ omg jacob so amazing. Seriously all I see about this game is Garrus this Kaidan that, but omgggg Jacob. lovelovelove. I kinda want to try and romance him but my Shep is really awkward and shitty with romance and kinda Not Over Liara, so yeah. Love Jacob.
♥ Mordin is also really fucking awesome okay. I just did his loyalty quest and I am surprised at how much affection I feel for a guy who is essentially an evil scientist. (Nazi scientist, as bf calls him.)
♥ I also really like Liara. Makes me want to play ME1 properly to see her. Her voice acting was kinda, um, weird, but I liked her overall. Did the Shadow Broker stuff, idk if there's more with her.
♥ Miranda is pretty cool. I find her face kinda weird and uncanny valley, idk why, but I like her.
♥ I do see what all the fuss is about with Garrus, despite earlier remarks re Jacob. He fights bad guys and doesn't afraid of anything.
♥ I like Shepard in general. I like sounding like such a fucking badass all the time. I was trying to describe the game to a friend and ended up settling on "Jack Bauer in Space". I feel it's a good description.
♥ I reaaaaaally hate Jack something fierce. idk if she gets more tolerable later on or something but I've already done her loyalty quest and she's so boring. Can't stand her.
♥ I love Zaaed and am saddened that I can't apparently have a proper conversation with him and Kasumi. I know she's DLC, is he DLC too? I downloaded a whole bunch at once.
♥ goddamn does this game glitch. Not as bad as, say, any Bethesda game ever, but still arrrgh. I hate having to reset whenever the game thinks an enemy is still alive so it won't tag the next thing. I did Grunt's Rite of Passage thing so fucking many times because it just refused to believe that this one Varren was dead.
♥ The main plot is kinda so-so. Not like bad or anything, but I'm not hugely invested in it. That's okay though because I love all the side stuff.
♥ WHY IS ABSOLUTELY EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN POWER (except wrex and liara now i guess) EITHER INSANELY CORRUPT OR A USELESS LUMP.
But yeah really enjoying the game so far, thanks to everyone who said to play it despite not liking ME1. I think I will go back and play 1 eventually, though I do have 3 to tackle after 2. I'm a bit worried, honestly, since I keep seeing people rage about the ending to 3, but yeah. I'm not that invested in the main plot, so I'm hoping that will save me. The gameplay is really fun, even if the cover mechanics occasionally make me want to break things.
oh yeah by the way I'm getting married this weekend so I'll probably talk about that a bit more at some point. CLEARLY MASS EFFECT COMES FIRST IN MY MIND.
