In further evidence that Ami gets annoyed about really silly minor things - The Scrappy page at TV Tropes. idk, it just bugs me that the label gets applied so liberally. I tend to think of it as something that a) not all fandoms have, and b) something that is common throughout the entire fanbase. Something like (lol lazy example) Jar Jar Binks, where you can find Star Wars fans from pretty much anywhere in fandom, and they're likely to report an ambivalence at best. Not a character who might receive epic hatred from fans of a love triangle they happen to be on the wrong end of, but is otherwise basically liked (like Aerith, although I haven't really been in FFVII fandom for awhile), or a character who... might annoy some subsets of the fandom (Gino, wtf are you doing on this list?). Don't know why I felt like raising it now, it's just been bothering me.
