nearly there now!

So 2011 is almost over! This is probably for the best. It was an eventful year, but I wouldn't quite say a good one.

Highlights:
☆ went on a cool holiday in July to Sydney, had awesome fun
☆ some solid new fandoms, especially getting back into comics proper (and getting into DC for the first time)
☆ finished my goddamn Arts degree finally
☆ managed to get through the year without any catastrophic friendship collapses (unlike last year)
☆ had issues with partner which were then successfully navigated so we're a lot closer now, which is good because
☆ I'm having a goddamn baby (eventually, still feels like forever away)

Lowlights:
☆ have been off work sick for almost five months. Realistically not going to go back to a decent-paying job that I really liked and was really good at. D:
☆ had a pretty crappy time mid-year in which none of my friends were really there for me. I'm coping now, but it's hard to feel that close to them right now
☆ worked really hard and lost a whole bunch of weight... then gained it back again as baby bulge, figures
☆ financially things are really not great right now, with neither of us working, but that should straighten out soon

...there were more net positive in the end, but it still didn't feel like a very good year. Maybe I'll look back on it with fondness? :D;

I mentioned it a little while ago briefly, but I managed to get things for my course sorted out, so I'm all set to do a Bachelor of Human Services/Master of Social Work next year. It's a four year course, but I've done a lot of the pre-requisites, so I don't have to do most of it full-time. (Unfortunately because of the way the other pre-reqs work, I can't actually shave any years off it.)
